HELP US WITH PHASE 1

THE GREAT HALL GETS A PROFESSIONAL STAGE

Since 1995, our Temple has served as a sacred space for community, wellness, and cultural preservation — now in our thirty-second year. Beyond our own programming, we provide a safe and supportive space for the arts, movement, education, and community life: independent instructors and providers in drum, capoeira, STEM tutoring, music, and yoga call this space home, alongside performances, rehearsals, milestone celebrations, and community gatherings.

Kamitfest is our annual fundraiser, featuring a special art auction, with all proceeds supporting our 501(c)(3) nonprofit mission — sustaining a shared resource for our community, from elders to youth.

By choosing the Temple Builder Donation, you help us grow that capacity. As we work toward expanding our space, your gift helps us serve more people, in more ways, for longer. Your donation is tax-deductible.

TEMPLE BUILDER'S BUFFET

Join us Saturday evening for a celebration honoring our two distinguished keynote speakers, alongside a curated art auction supporting the Temple's future. Beautiful paintings and sculptures, gathered for the occasion, will be auctioned live, with all proceeds directed toward the capital raise for facility maintenance and construction.

Temple Builders may reserve a table for the evening and enjoy a VIP buffet, in recognition of their role in sustaining and growing this space for our community. Seating is limited to the first 100 donors — reservation required by August 31st.

Queen Afua

As a young woman, Queen Afua struggled with eczema covering her body from head to toe, chronic asthma, debilitating PMS, migraines, and deep insecurity. She was a sensitive, creative artist — and she felt oppressed by her own body.

Rather than surrendering to pharmaceutical management, she turned to nature. She began fasting, studying with master healers across the African diaspora, and immersing herself in plant medicine. Layer by layer, she healed. And the more whole she became, the more urgently she wanted to pass the map to other women.

"When women see me, they connect immediately — because they wrote the book. They just wrote it through me, through their prayers, and their tears, and their hurt, and their woundedness."

That personal transformation became the living blueprint for everything she now teaches.  Her suffering was not wasted.  It was the curriculum.

Anthony T. Browder

For over four decades, Dr. Anthony T. Browder has devoted his life to uncovering and sharing the truth of ancient African history, science, and philosophy. Founder and director of IKG Cultural Resources since 1981, he has traveled to Egypt more than sixty times, leading study tours and lectures that have carried thousands through the sacred sites of our ancestors.

He is the first African American to fund and coordinate an archaeological excavation in Egypt, and continues to lead the ASA Restoration Project, the ongoing excavation and restoration of 25th dynasty tombs on the West Bank of Luxor.

An author, cultural historian, artist, and educator, Dr. Browder is a graduate of Howard University's College of Fine Arts and the author of numerous publications used in classrooms around the world, including Nile Valley Contributions to Civilization and From the Browder File

His life's work rests on a single, unshakable conviction: that ancient Africans were the architects of civilization.

We are honored to welcome Dr. Browder to Kamitfest as our Sunday keynote speaker.
